Week Two

Hello, these weeks are really weird. So I'm on my second week, but my third week starts on Wednesday and that keeps throwing me off. So, anyways this week has been really good. I had a couple of lessons with my investigator and they went pretty well, but we were told one Thursday that we will no longer be teaching this investigator. Sad, so I decided that I wanted her to be able to feel of the Spirit and understand that I knew that this church was true and Jesus Christ loves her. So I prayed and concluded that the final invitation I should give to her was that she should go to church. So I go in there ask how her day went, and she said she watched Black Panther for the third time, and we talked about that for a few minutes (in Cantonese I might add). So that was cool. Then we easily switched over to my message I wanted to share with her. So I bore my testimony and the spirit was most definitely in the room. I began to invite her to come to church and started by saying "I want you to come to church, you don't have to do anything. Just come for sacrament meeting and you will be able to feel the spirit."(Abridged) But when I explained that she didn't have to do anything I said "you don't have to pray, you don't have to partake of the sacrament, and you don't have to sing" and I said sing all jokingly to just be goofy, but when I said it she a got a really confused/worried look on her face. So I said it like three more times and tried to make sure she understood but it wasn't helping. So I just pushed past and wrapped it up. I go back to class and told my teacher what I said and he started grinning and wrote down what I meant to say versus what I actually said. What I meant to say: "you don't have to sing" What I said: "you don't have to prostitute yourself" so yeah. Turns out she is my teacher now and we had a good laugh about it.

 Also this week we had our devotionals and I listened to them in Cantonese and that was a great learning experience. I am gonna try and listen to as much General Conference in Cantonese if I can. 

Stay fresh everybody. The church is true, and please pray that it stops snowing because its making my companion be a smart a** and if he keeps it up I'm gonna hurt him.
